A little info to help you create your perfect wedding album!
The Lay flat Album
What is the point of having all these gorgeous wedding photos if you never print them?! And what better way to display your favourite photos than in a beautifully designed hand made Wedding Album. Well here is a little information on how to do that. I try to keep this process as simple and easy as possible for you.
Firstly it does not matter if you haven’t purchased a Wedding Album with your photography package. You can order one at any time in your wedding journey. Even a year down the line if you’d like! The process is still the same.
The albums I order from Wooden Banana are all hand made. They are available in different sizes, but the most popular size is the 8×8 inch square. This comes with 20 beautiful lay flat spreads, so you don’t have to worry about your photos going across the middle of the book.
Choosing your pictures
The most difficult part of this process is picking the photos to go in your album!! I’m sorry!! This is something I can’t help you with. You’ll have to sit down together with a glass of something nice or a cup of tea and spend an evening choosing your must haves!! Set aside some time in your week to do this, pop it in your diary!
The easiest way to do this is by favouriting your images in your gallery once you have received it. 70-80 images is an ideal amount for a 20 spread album. If you choose a little more that 80, or the 80 that you’ve chosen don’t fit in a desired way in the album then you can always add more pages.
The Design
So now its over to me! You’ve done the hard part. Once you’ve favourited your images, I can design your album. I open all your favourites into my album design software, and start playing around. I will keep your photos in the right time frame from the day. To keep the story flowing through the album. This means when you look through your album in years to come you still remember your story exactly how it happened.
Once I am happy with the first draft, I will send this over to you using the design software. You’ll receive an email with a link so you can view the first draft. You will see the design page by page, it might be a good idea to make notes along the way, noting the page numbers and what you would like changed. Then just ping me an email over with any comments you have and I will amend accordingly. As soon as you’re happy I can send it off to print. Just before that though, there are a few more decisions to make…
More Choices
Okay so there are a few more choices you have to make here. On the front of your album you can have something written, one line is included in the price but you can add an extra line for a small charge.
You can have anything you like!! A couple of options are……’OurWedding’ on the top line. Followed by ’29/07/2019 your wedding date on the bottom line. OR your names ‘Eli and Scott’ on the top line, followed by ‘29.07.19’ on the bottom line. Or anything else you’d like!
The second decision you have to make is the colour/material of your album cover. The options are suede, velvet, natural and leather. Below are the details of all the cover choices and whether you can have engraving or embossing on that particular cover.
Extra Info
Once the design has been approved by you, the colour and material chosen and your wording on the front decided on. It is then time for me to send over to Wooden Banana for them to make the album. These albums are hand made to perfection and this can take a bit of time. I would allow 6 weeks for your album to arrive. I will of course keep you updated if I hear of any changes.
